Casa Manana is definitely unique; eclectically decorated throughout with imported antique furnishings from Bali, Thailand, China, Tibet and Africa; and one of a kind art pieces and furniture designed and crafted by a French artist/designer. Beautiful landscaped garden with palms, ferns, cordylines, crotons and heliconias both rare and common varieties. The pool enters into the open garden-like living area.

Fully equipped kitchen with a 19cu refrigerator, standard size gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, large sink w/garbage disposal, Cusinart duet blender/food processor, mini chopper, coffee maker, rice cooker, pots, pans, bowls all cooking utensils etc, everything youll ever need for gourmet cooking, baking and setting a beautiful table for fine dining. A gas BBQ is on standby for casual dining. There are 2 fairly stocked supermarkets in Uvita for your shopping and you will also find some basic condiments provided in the villa.

We can arrange a private chef for a special evening, massage, reike, meditation, pilates, yoga, food shopping; billed upon arrival.

Bring your Ipod and DVD movies! The villa comes with an Ipod docking station and a ‘zone-free’ DVD player so there is no worry about disc compatibility.

This was my first Cob project, which I learned from books, web, talking with others and from just doing it!
The clay is from the surrounding area and is generally pure enough without needing to be filtered.
The sand is from a local river bed. Normally I would use sharp sand, but there was enough ‘bite’ to make it usable.
The fibre is Vettiver. This was added to the mix as short-chopped pieces (5 to 10 cm) and also as full-length fibres (up to 1 metre long) added during the building process.
‘Dry’ mix proportions for the cob:
Sand 80%
Clay 10%
Fibre 10%
These proportions varied with the different layers, but always mainly sand.
