In spring 1979 ABBA decided to re-record their latest single-hit “Chiquitita” in order to add Spanish vocals to the existing backing-track. This Spanish version was then released in Spain and Latin America where it became a huge success hitting number one eg in Argentina, Costa Rica or Mexico where it stayed on top of the charts for amazing 30 weeks. This TV-performance is taken from Spanish TV where ABBA appeared on “Aplauso” 28 May 1979.

Mexico defeated the United States 4-2 on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at a sold out Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California to win the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Mexico opened the match pressing with high energy, but the US struck first with a Michael Bradley header off of a corner kick in the 8th minute. Steve Cherundolo, the Americans’ best defender, exited the match in the 12th minute. His exit dismantled the US backline’s chemistry and quality. Still, the Americans were able to strike once again in the 22nd minute. Just a few minutes later, American defenders were unable to clear a shot from the box and Andres Guardado got a touch off of a rebound to bring the match level in the 35th minute. The Mexicans kept up the pressure in the second half as Barrera received a pass and unleashed a low swerver to give Mexico the lead in the 49th. The Americans had chances to draw level, including a shot from Dempsey at the top of the box that hit the crossbar. Their inability to tie the game only fueled the Mexican attack. Dos Santos finally killed the Americans’ hopes with an artful sequence, maneuvering away from a sprawling Tim Howard and floating a curling …
