I spent two weeks in Costa Rica last year (unfortunately not on a motorcycle). But I did map out my entire trip. There is very little waypoint information for Costa Rica, so I marked as many gas stations, atm machines and points of interest as I could. I’ve got it all in a mapsource file. See attached gpx file.

Maps for Costa Rica? What do you need a map for? Costa Rica has about 5 roads, all going out of San Jose. I doubt there are any GPS maps available for CR.
The country is only 300 miles wide, yet it takes 6 hours to go anywhere else because the roads are terrible. Very few places have internet, and there is virtually no cell phone service. With the exception of San Jose which is the capitol, Costa Rica is undeveloped country pushing third world.

Melonie D is wrong: San Jose is not the capitol, it is the capital (with an a), and you can find internet everywhere, even in tiny towns in Costa Rica.
Sorry, I can’t help you with the GPS maps.

Melonie D: are you sure you’ve been to Costa Rica? because you are describing a place that I don’t recognize myself and I am costarican! First of all, San Jose is the capital, with an a (you should learn to spell your own language). Second: in Costa Rica you find telephone service even in the jungle! My husband (who’s italian) was so surprised about it! You can also find internet cafes everywhere and it is one of the most developed countries in Latin America, reason why multinational companies choose us, because of our high level of education and infrastructure. Please be more respectful of my country. I’m sure you’re part of the 1% who doesn’t like it, fortunately there’s a 99% who love it!!!
