Had a really good time there, staff was friendly, food was great (became really fond of Costa Rican pineapple and Costa Rican coffee), and the resort had nice dinner shows; not much of a beach and poor snorkeling. I do think staying at a resort is definitely a better way of meeting other people if that's important to you. One of the couples my brother and I met actually purchased a timeshare condo close to the resort they had such a good time.
