Can anyone recommend a good, reliable private driver in Costa Rica?
My girlfriend and I are going to be needing transportation around the Nicoyo peninsula. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable private driver in Costa Rica? We are looking for a English speaking, very friendly driver with a nice 4×4 with AC. 4×4 will defiantly be needed for the Nicoya Peninsula. We will be going from Brasilito to Playa San Miguel/Playa Coyote.
A few days later, we will be going from Playa Coyote to Montezuma.

It would be better to give you a culture lesson to answer this question. If you asked a group of Ticos, who is a good, reliable private driver in Costa Rica, every single person in the group would raise their hand….. good luck.. Try Jose, ask around for Jose…he is a good driver….

Hi Michael,
We several good drivers, but we use vans. I know there are a few reliable 4×4 drivers around. Try the Tico Times classifieds and as for references: ticotimes.net.
Send me your travel dates just in case I can recommend someone. It will probably cost upwards $100/day plus meals and lodging expenses.

Check out http://www.ticotimes.com. That is your best bet for finding a good private driver. I have a guy in San Jose who is a taxi driver that I use, but he only does local stuff, nothing out furthur. So try the Tico Times.
