Costa Rica Travel and Vacation

I live near Modesto, ca 95351 and I want to go to Costa Rica for a few day. I was wondering how much it would cost me… I tried a website but it was a little complicated for me so I thought why don’t I just ask someone on yahoo. Is there anyone from my neck of the woods who travels to Costa Rica occasionally? I hope one of you kind folks could help me out. Thanks.

I know as of right now to get a drivers license in costa rica you don’t have to be a resident but what about a international drivers license. any links would be appriciated and helpful. thank you for your answers and time.

I’m doing a project about a language school in Costa Rica, San Rafael. I picked San Rafeal de Coronado as the city, and now I can’t seem to find enough research information. I tried google images, but LITERALLY one image came up and that was it. Anyone know of attractions in or around San Rafael de Coronado and or know of any nature areas and can provide information (preferably pictures?)

The responses here are clueless, angry and bewildered as to why 46 warships and 7000 troops have been sent to Costa Rica or the “so f’n what” tea party response. Why don’t Americans want to know what is happening in their own country? Ignorance couldn’t really be that blissful.

If anyone can offer any information on Costa Rica, Panama, or another retirement destination (outside the U.S) it would be greatly appreciated. We would be interested in the following:
1) the cost of a modest place to live
2) Relative closeness to conveniences such as groceries, hospitals, banks, etc.
3) climate
4) proximity to the beach
5) overall cost of living
6) Approximate population of americans in that area
