what is the cab fare from San Jose, Costa Rica to Tabacon, Arenal?

We arrive at the San Jose, Costa Rica airport at 8:20m. We will be staying in Tabacon. Would appreicate if somebody could tell us how much it costs to get to Tabacon, Arenal. Tabacon resort is charging $140 one way for the shuttle.

Also, any suggestions on things to do/see would be much appreciated.

In your experience, how is the best way to visit Arenal in Costa Rica? Tours, activities – Etc…
Which companies would you recommend?
Keeping in mind that we are on a budget, so nothing expensive (unless its one of those situations where you have to pay the money but its totally worth it?)

Im trying to get to the south east side of Costa Rica from the La Fortuna/ Arenal area. I was wondering if anyone could help with suggestions on cheap, quick (I know its CR) transportation.
