Nicoya is 37 Km. away – banks, hospitals, bigger supermarkets and other services are available there. San Jose is just an hour away – The Puerto Carrillo airport is only 15 minutes from home and the daily flights to San Jose take 45 minutes. Playa Sámara is connected by a paved road all the way to San José – about a 5 hour drive. There is also a regular daily bus service between San José and Samara / Nicoya. The completely walled gardens provide security for all guests. Abundant water supply, electricity to the back of the property and the imminently available high speed internet indeed make it a dream for a vacation rental. Welcome to El Lagarto Bar & Restaurant! We are located right on the beachfront – just a few minutes walk from Samara’s main street. Every day starting at Noon, we serve delicious cocktails, fruit drinks and snacks in a very tropical and nice atmosphere, surrounded by coconut palms and overlooking the Ocean. Visit us for dinner. Hey Everyone! On this visit to San Jose we decided to try and do it on the cheap and see what hotels and hostels were BEST for backpackers and people traveling Costa Rica on a budget, while still getting a bang for the buck.
We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Capital. Hotel Capital boasts the best location in all of San Jose, were they right? Is it all about location, location, location, and what about the orthopedic beds… would they be ideal for a good nights sleep or would it be like sleeping on a piece of cardboard? The Hotel Capital was only $28./ night for the both of us… was it worth it, would we recommend Hotel Capital to our friends and family?
